Center for Academic Excellence
The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) is designed to cater to individual students' academic needs. Supporting each and every student academically fulfills our goal to create prepared, motivated, and driven student-athletes. Through modified course work, skills development classes, and classroom accommodations, students are given the opportunity to develop their academic minds at their own personal level. The personal needs of each student are taken into consideration. The ultimate goal of the CAE is to give every student the best and most appropriate academic opportunities, regardless of skill, background, or previous experience.
The Director of the CAE, Melissa Neuner, studied at the University of Virginia where she earned her Master's of Teaching in K-12 Special Education concentrating on learning disabilities and emotional and behavior disorders. She also earned her undergraduate degree in environmental science while studying at UVA. Melissa has been working with students with academic needs since the start of her teaching career in 2004 and is committed to making each student's academic career at CBA a success.
