By Car:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              
From Gunnison: Crested Butte Academy is 32 miles north of Gunnison on Highway 135 located on Mt. Crested Butte in the Elevation Hotel and Spa.

From Denver, take Hwy 285 west to Buena Vista then go south to join Hwy 50 westbound.  You will travel over Monarch Pass to Gunnison.  In downtown Gunnison, turn north on Hwy 135 and travel 31 miles north to Mt. Crested Butte.

From Grand Junction, travel east on Hwy 50 through Montrose to Gunnison. Turn north (left) on Hwy 135 and continue north 32 miles to Mt. Crested Butte.

From Colorado Springs, take Hwy 24 westbound to Buena Vista and turn south on Hwy 285.  Turn westbound on Hwy 50.  Continue west over Monarch Pass to Gunnison. Turn North (right) on Hwy 135 and continue 32 miles to Crested Butte.

Summer access to Crested Butte is also available over Kebler Pass (west of Crested Butte) and Cottonwood Pass (east of Crested Butte).  If you wish to use these roads, please check road conditions.

Crested Butte Academy is located in the Elevation Hotel and Spa (500 Gothic Road.) The building is on your right hand side as you travel up the Mountain. Parking is available at the Grand Lodge Parking Lot located just passed the Elevation Hotel and Spa.

By Air:

Gunnison / Crested Butte Airport
United Airlines offers jet service from Denver to Gunnison / Crested Butte Airport (GUC). In addition, United Express provides up to 2 daily connections via Denver to Gunnison / Crested Butte year-round. American Airlines provides seasonal daily non-stop 757 jet service from Dallas to Gunnison / Crested Butte.

Montrose Regional Airport (Alternate Gateway)
Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is another great option that offers additional non-stop jet service to the area on United Airlines, Continental Airlines, and Delta Airlines. United Express offers up to six connections per day via Denver to Montrose. Montrose is an easy one and a half hour scenic ground transfer to Crested Butte.

Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport is an option that offers the  greatest variety of flights and carriers.  The drive from the Denver International Airport is approximately 4.5 hours in the summer and 5.5 hours in winter.  Please check weather conditions in the winter months before driving from Denver to Crested Butte. 

 * The Alpine Express shuttle service provides transfers to Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte from the Gunnison Airport and from Montrose Regional Airport.  Please make advance resrvations.
