Andy Knox
Andy grew up in upstate New
York. A love for experiencing other
cultures has taken him to more than 25 countries around the world including
time spent studying in Canada, England and Switzerland and a year working in
Australia. Andy earned a B.A. in Social Science with a concentration in
Geography from St. Bonaventure University (NY) in 1999 and a M.S. in Geography
from the University of Oregon in 2003.
After completing a master's thesis, Andy relocated from Eugene, Oregon to New England where he was a member of the New Teachers Collaborative, a one-year post graduate teacher certification program in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon receiving a Massachusetts Teaching License, he taught in the History Department at the North Central Charter Essential School (MA) from 2004-2006. Andy is very excited to be back at CBA for his second year teaching both Geography and History in the middle and high schools.
Andy lives in Mt. Crested Butte with his wife, Joanne, who teaches English at CBA and his overly friendly Golden Retriever Maddie. He treasures all the related mountain pursuits that compliment living in Crested Butte and is grateful for the healthy lifestyle living in Crested Butte provides.
